DAVID S. LEE

David S. Lee is the managing partner at Lee, Shome & Kennedy LLP. His legal practice includes mergers and acquisitions, private investment financing, corporate entity creation and governance, partnership matters, employment law, corporate dissolution and Chapter 11 restructuring, health law, commercial real estate, trademarks, and food/beverage licensing. He has a particular interest in working with emerging businesses and industries.

Mr. Lee provided legal counsel to a wide array of corporate and individual clientele over the past decade. To wit, he served the legal and business interests for a Fortune 500 grocery chain, a national physical rehabilitation corporation, various banks and financial institutions, Internet security providers with government contracts, physician owned medical groups, and some of the most prestigious restaurants in San Diego.

Mr. Lee received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. He received his juris doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. He has been named on Martindale Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, which is an exclusive directory of top rated law firms and lawyers.

Mr. Lee successfully defended multi-million dollar lawsuits on behalf of his corporate clientele. He has also successfully litigated against corporate conglomerates, such as Walmart, with damages exceeding $50,000,000.00. His acquisition deals have purchase prices that range from $100,000.00 to $25,000,000.00.

Mr. Lee is a member of various legal and business organizations, such as the San Diego Bar AssociationEnright Inn of Court, the International Federation of Real Estate, and the Korean American Bar Association. He also speaks on various business and health law topics, such as the Spine IEP Fellows and Young Surgeon’s Course. Mr. Lee counsels various small business groups that have been created through LSK’s local outreach efforts in the surrounding San Diego area.

J. TANYA SHOME

J. Tanya Shome is a partner at Lee Shome & Kennedy LLP. Ms. Shome leads the litigation services provided by LSK. She provides the following legal services: business litigation, partnership disputes, employment claim defense, intellectual property claims and defense, real estate matters, environmental law, and eminent domain for public governmental entities and private property owners.

Ms. Shome has over sixteen years of legal experience. She successfully tried multiple jury and bench trials that have garnered national media attention, such as a federal trademark lawsuit involving Los Angeles Unified School District’s $1billion “1:1 iPad” program. Ms. Shome also represented a public water utility company and obtained a jury verdict of $6.3 million. She also represented a private property owner against the City of Escondido in a condemnation and environmental lawsuit, and obtained a jury verdict of $2.3 million.

Prior to joining LSK, Ms. Shome served as in-house counsel for a publicly traded medical billing company. She successfully defended the company’s business interests in various legal actions during her tenure there. She also practiced at top law firms in San Diego, which specialized in business and real estate legal services.

Ms. Shome graduated from the University of California, Irvine with dual degrees in Environmental Analysis & Design, and Psychology & Social Behavior. She received her juris doctorate from the New England School of Law. She served on the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement, and the school’s Environmental Law Forum Journal.

Ms. Shome is an active member of the San Diego Bar Association, and the Enright Inn of Court. She volunteers with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and various women’s interest groups. She also counsels small business owners regarding litigation-related matters through the firm’s membership services.

John P. “Jack” Kennedy is a partner at Lee, Shome & Kennedy LLP. Mr. Kennedy engages in both transactional and litigation matters on behalf of his clientele. His practice primarily focuses on mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, securities regulations, contract negotiations, and general corporate law. He is licensed to practice law in California and Washington D.C.

Mr. Kennedy has represented both private and publicly held companies in a wide range of transactions. Some of his notable transactions include: negotiating the stock purchase of a subsidiary of an internet technology company from a publicly- traded corporation through a 338(h)(10) election; redeeming the repurchase of shares from an officer of a multi-million dollar technology company; negotiating equity swaps between various corporate entities; negotiating the purchase of a luxury car dealership; and closing the sale of a custom window and door manufacturer to one of the largest private corporations in America.

Mr. Kennedy received his undergraduate degree in English from San Diego State University. He received his juris doctorate from California Western School of Law, where he was named onto the Deans List and received awards for his academic achievement in the fields of Constitutional Law and International Arbitration. Mr. Kennedy was also admitted to the University of Southern California Gould School of Law for further law studies in the fields of business organizations, mergers and acquisitions, business finance, and securities regulations. Prior to joining LSK, Mr. Kennedy worked at the Office of the Attorney General, as well as, multiple other private firms in the San Diego area. He also created a successful design and printing company that served the San Diego community.

Mr. Kennedy is an active member of the San Diego Bar Association and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He also counsels small business clients through the law firm’s local outreach efforts. Some of Mr. Kennedy’s favorite experiences with clients have been assisting them build and grow their business from fledgling start-ups to highly recognized brands.

JESSE BLANCO

Jesse Blanco is a senior attorney. Mr. Blanco specializes in tax and immigration legal services.

Jesse Blanco is a senior attorney with Lee, Shome & Kennedy LLP.  Mr. Blanco specializes in tax and immigration legal services, as specifically follows: tax litigation, audit representation, installment agreements, offers in compromise, collections, 1031 exchanges, capital gains counseling, investment-based immigration visas (E1, E2, and EB5), and employment-based visas (H1-B, EB-3, and TN).

Mr. Blanco represents a diverse spectrum of corporate clientele from Mexican energy companies to statewide restaurant chains.  He reduced tax bills in excess of $1 million down to less than $1,000.00 in some instances.  He also served the business interests of multiple international companies who required his services for employment-based visas.

Mr. Blanco received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. He received his law degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law. He received a Masters in Law in Taxation from the same institution. Mr. Blanco is a Certified Fraud Examiner for the State of California. He has also spoken on various legal and tax matters for various media outlets, such as ESPN Radio and Televisa Channel 12.

Prior to starting his legal practice, Mr. Blanco worked in the taxation department of Ernst & Young, LLP. He is also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Blanco is the corporate treasurer for the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association. He also serves as a member for the San Diego County Bar Association and the South Bay County Bar Association. During his spare time, Mr. Blanco provides numerous lectures on the subject of taxation for various outreach groups, such as the San Diego Housing Commission and the National Latina Business Women Association.
